Yuzu is a simple Japanese casual dining restaurant in Church Lane. The menu reflect the simpleness as well as the interior. We came in for an early lunch on weekdays, there was only us in the restaurant for the first hour we were there. Friendly and attentive staff greats me straight away, show us to our table and offer us drinks.

The entree comes pretty fast; Beef Tataki ($12), Salmon Aburi Nigiri ($7) and Sashimi-Yuzu-Coconut-Ceviche ($18). The beef tataki was flavoured nicely but the slice was a lil bit sloopy, some slices was a bit thicker than the others. As with the nigiri, I found spiciness flavour in it that I don't really like even tough the salmon it self was beautifully seared. Our entree ended with the unique combination of coconut ceviche of salmon, tuna and kingfish. Sadly, there were a couple of the fish that still has the fishiness after taste when you eat them. I do find this dish a bit weird rather than unique. Maybe if it was served chilled rather than luke warm, it would carry on better.

Chirashi Sushi ($22) and Charsyu Ramen ($16). My husband loves his chirashi sushi, perfectly portions and the fish taste much better in this dish rather than the ceviche. As for the ramen, the noodles it self needs more flavour and I want it to be a lil bit firmer but the broth was nice and the charsyu was delicious as well as tender.

Chocolate Souffle. They don't have the souffle stated on the lunch menu but I asked the staff and they say they can make me one. Sadly, they run out of ice cream so the souffle come without it. Simple looking of chocolate cake but fluffy and warm inside. A nice piece of souffle indeed and I do agree it taste better with an ice cream.
