Son in Law in The Pad
Son in Law in The Pad is located in the brand new refurbish alley at Melbourne Central, called ELLA. I have always been a fan of Son in Law and in awe of Tony & Oh Rungpradit’s Thai innovation. So excited they finally have a place in city, making it much more accessible for me.When I came in, they only have a very limited menu but I heard they have much more over there. I came in for the cute bao's. Gua Bao - crispy pork belly, roasted duck and crispy tofu. If you want them decorated into cute's cartoon gua bao, it's gonna cost more than $6ea. I get it, the creativity it self requires time to make. They are cute but the flavours could be enhanced a lil bit more. On some of the bao, the sauce are pretty much everywhere and a bit too watery so the bao get's a lil bit soggy.
I do want to come back to try more of their menu, I miss their tom yum so much or even their fried chicken. I will definitely be back for more than their cute bao's next time. My boy loves the character bao so much that I would have to order it again next time.
