Maria is the sister of Lorna, recently opened in the main street of Upwey, just in front of Upwey Station. The cafe is charming and clearly spotted among others, clean white modern facades attracts me from the very first side.

They have a small outdoor area in front and three indoor part inside the cafe. The first part is where the cashier, barista station and a lil bar seatings available. The second and third part more table seatings available. I can see they are also working on the courtyard at the back. Started with coffee and babycino for my kid. It was a cold rainy morning and their coffee magically wake me up.

Huevos Rotos - fried eggs, chorizo ragu, jamon, potatoes, fried bread, sautéed spinach, avocado lime crema, tomato salad, marinated feta, olive oil ($19). My husband ordered this expecting a big portions but it comes in a nice portions for female like me. Despite that, we love the flavours so much. One of the most delicious twist on baked egg type of dish, Crispy egg with rich chorizo ragu, not too spicy, aromatic potato and crispy fried bread. I would eat this again and again.

Croquettes Benedict - panko crumbed sweet potato, chorizo croquettes, oaxaca cheese, red capsicum jam, poached eggs, hollandaise ($19.5) add panko crumbed halloumi and jamon. Oh my!! This dish is just awesome. My son finish one whole crispy sweet potato croquettes with stringy cheesy in the middle. One of the best croquettes in Melbourne. A unique twist of classic benedict but honestly, I will opted for this rather than the classics anytime.

Churros Waffle - cinnamon sugar, chocolate fudge sauce, strawberry, sugared hazelnuts, mascarpone ($18.5). By now, we can clearly see the Mexican, Spanish flare pretty strongly on their dish and I love it. It feels refreshing, new and modern. I declare this one of the best sweet brunch dish in Melbourne. The churros was perfect, crisp sugary outer layer with fluffy inside topped with thick chocolate fudge, fresh strawberry, creamy mascarpone and even the crunchy sugared toasted hazelnuts taste really good.

This are the best brunch dishes I had this year for sure! The whole combinations are perfect! I can't fault any of this dish and all I can say is they are delicious. Not only that, they have sides and small things as an options and they are so unique and tempting, not the usual stuff you see at a brunch cafe and I love them. Highest recommendation from me.
