Miyako (Revisited-Invited)

Miyako is a place I will never forget, cause I got my very first official invite from them, back when I fist started my blog. After years, this is my second invite I got from them. At first, they invited me back for a sake event but I was away at that time so Anita, the kind manager who also remembers me from back then, scheduled a later date for me to come in.

We came in a lil bit late to our sessions because it was raining hard that day. We arrived around 6pm and got seated straight away in the full teppanyaki table. Started with yuzu tea, that I love so much and umeshu for my husband.

I ordered Nabeyaki Udon for my kid - prawn tempura, spinach, egg, mushroom, seaweed ($22). Comes in a claypot just like a traditional udon would be. Light but delicious broth, full of goodness inside. Generous portions in terms of udon and all of the toppings event hough the price is a touch expensive.

For us, they prepared the Take η«Ή set ($88) started with Miyako Wafu Salad, Sashimi and Sushi Roll. Fresh and nicely presented sashimi and sushi as I remembered. They are also high quality as I can taste the difference in their tuna and white fish cuts.

King Prawn, Salmon and Twice Cooked Potato. Love the king prawn to bits! I wish they served more of them. Succulent, fresh prawn, grilled to perfection. Salmon and potato does not fall behind too much from the prawn too.

Lamb, Wagyu Rump Steak (marble score 7+), Assorted Vegetables, and Fried Rice. Perfectly cooked and seasoned lamb cutlet, no lamb smell at all which make it even more enjoyable for me. The rump steak was not as tender as I want it to be and the fried rice is not as aromatic as I remembered it before.

Miyako Dessert Platter - Lychee Cappuccino, Yuzu CrΓ¨me BrΓ»lΓ©e, Matcha Hanjuku, Azuki Ice Cream ($25) matched with Yuzu Zanmai. This dessert platter is definitely the highlight of our night. Besides the lychee cappuccino, we love all of them to bits. Fresh creamy yuzu creme brulee, modern and perfect blend of Japanese as well as Western culture. Matcha cake? Love the strong matcha flavour and the smooth texture. My husband loves the azuki red bean ice cream the most for it's strong azuki flavour but perfect with the buttery crunchy tart on the bottom. Regarding the lychee cappuccino, we love everything about it besides the ginger jelly. I don't think it match with the rest of the ingredients. We love the fresh soury a bit bitter in the end yuzu zanmai but I prefer those creamy strong matcha latte. :)
