Kobe Teppanyaki (Invited)

Kobe is an authentic Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant, located in Doncaster East. I rarely venture out this way in general but when the invitation came in and I saw what they got and the menu, it intrigues me then I come running.

Upon arrival, I noticed the restaurants is divided into two section; teppanyaki section and ala carte section. They have several teppanyaki tables as well as a semi private teppanyaki room. One of the things I love the most is they are very much child friendly. Spacious, not too noisy but the teppanyaki table is slightly smaller than other teppanyaki place I have been to, not that it matter that much.

We started with ordering for my boy from the ala carte menu; Gyoza and Chawan Mushi. The gyoza is pretty unusual, it's yellow and the skin closer to Chinese wonton but thick like Chinese dumplings. The taste is okay. Move on to the chawan mushi, smooth and delicious.

Kobe Set ($58/pp) started with Garden Salad and Japanese Fried Chicken. The salad was average but fresh. Fried chicken is completely different story, super crunchy, very well marinated chicken, comes with mayo on the side. I love every bit of it. So does my son.

King Prawn and White Fish Fillet. I love the succulent fresh prawn, grilled to perfection. I would like a lot more of this. I'm not usually a big fan of white fish but this white fish is delicious. My son also loves it so much, smooth, silky and generous in sauce.

Chicken Maryland, Eye Fillet Steak. Chicken also very well marinated and cooked, all the sauce sip into the very deep meat making it so delicious. The fillet steak is not bad at all, cooked perfectly medium and nicely match with crispy garlic chips.

Upgraded to M11+ Wagyu Steak ($25). We decided to take an upgrade on one of our meat servings cause seriously M11+? I have never seen it in Melbourne, ever! Melts in your mouth, burst into oily delicious fat even though they cut it into big cubes. My husband and I loves it so much.

Assorted Vegetables, Miso Soup and Fried Rice. The usual sides for a teppanyaki sides. We also played the usual games of catching egg and bowl, which is always fun and the kids love it so much. My kid had more fun here than any other previous teppanyaki experience.

Tempura Ice Cream ($8) and Matcha Creme Brรปlรฉe ($10). Ended with a bang! Love the super crunchy delicious batter tempura coating with vanilla creamy ice cream inside. Then those burnt sugar crack on top of creamy matcha mouse is just amazing.
