Turning Point (Revisited-Invited)

Turning Point amazed me everytime in terms of their strategic locations, merely seconds from Ripponlea Station as well as their spacious interior. Nicely done for private functions or even semi private functions. Making it also family friendly and suitable for large group.

I came in on a Friday morning and half of the cafe is full of locals, having their coffee, studying and working. Is always nice to see the locals feeling comfortable in their local cafes. Caroline - carrot, tumeric, apple, orange, lemon ($8) and latte.

Ramen Noodles - soba noodles marinated in mushroom oil, crumbed tofu, pickled enoki, shitaki, snow mushroom, edamame, coriander, chilli ($17.5). I was surprise by the sweetness of the pickled enoki and shitaki mushrooms, they were so sweet that I feel it's too much. I do love the earthy rich mushroom broth with the noodles, but the star of the dish is the crumbed tofu. Crispy tofu with soft inside, just a lil bit salt would make it even more perfect.

Poke Bowl - Japanese red chilli cured salmon, multigrain rice, edamame, pickled Japanese pumpkin, spring onion, avocado, seaweed salad ($17.5). The multigrain rice was pretty much soaked in and soggy but pretty flavourful. I love the cured salmon and abundant seaweed as well as edamame.

Matcha & Oat Porridge - beetroot poached pear, strawberries, house made granola ($16.5). This is my favourite dish of the day! Not a regular porridge indeed! Deliciously sweet oat porridge with generous strawberries and perfectly poached pear. Love it.
