O'Hey (Invited)

O’Hey is a charming new cafe in the heart of Rosanna. We’re surprised to know that they’ve only been open for 2 months based on the packed-out weekday lunch crowd! They’ve done a splendid job in renovating the whole place - I especially loved the pink ceiling lights and the wall art.

First up, we ordered the Strawberry Coconut Milkshake and a soy flat white to start. My brunch buddy blamed me for taking too generous sips of his milkshake when he was away - I did not! They simply magicked away.

For meals, we shared  O’Hey’s grand take on the the eggs benny, their Brisket - beef brisket on top of potato croquettes topped with poached eggs - all smoked and encased in a glass dome. The result of this was one of the best smoked hollandaise I’ve had. The smokiness and sweetness of the brisket also went really well with the croquettes. My tiny tiny constructive comments would probably just to make the fillings of the croquettes more smooth, and more of the awesome smokey hollandaise!

The Smashed Avo was also pretty good with its pops of sweetness coming from the pomegranate seeds. The avo was perfectly ripe. And the stunner of our whole meal was probably the Cauliflower side. Double-deep-fried and magestically stacked with shards of parmesan crisps in a croquembouche pyramid, we can’t help but ooh and aah at the presentation. Looks aside, the cauliflower coating was reminescent of KFC. Definitely a healthier alternative.
