Collective Espresso (Revisited-Invited 3)

Collective Espresso is a place that I have been invited many many many times before. I'm still happy and excited even cause their food are always good. As I mentioned in many of my reviews before, the cafe it's small, very limited indoor area and almost always busy. So when I went in on Sunday morning, I'm lucky enough to get one of their indoor tables as that day was super cold and a bit rainy.

This is the only cafe that I love ordering the classic big breakfast, on others I tend to order the complicated modern dishes. But in Collective Espresso, their The collective sigh of relief - eggs your way on toast, bacon, pork sausage, house made beans, potato rosti, wilted spinach, slow roasted mushrooms & tomato ($22) and smashed avocado ($4) is super delicious. Every component in the dish is very well executed and that's amazing, considering how many component available on the plate. I love their sweet pork sausage and crispy but melt in your mouth potato rosti.

Pulled pork steamed Buns - charcoal Gua Baos & chilli jam, coriander & pickled cabbage, green mayo ($17.5). This is part of their new menu, the bun is fluffy but I would like a lil bit more pork inside of the steamed buns and maybe a lil bit of something else on the side with the gua baos. I also would like stronger flavour in the dish and maybe some crispy salty elements like fried shallots.

Oreo ‘Show Time’ pancake -mini Oreo popcorn bucket, strawberries & cream, rhubarb compote, banana crumble and whipped vanilla cream ($18.5). Another new dish, finally they get rid of their famous gravity waffle replacing it with top notch pancake. This reminds me more of a hot cake, fluffy, warm with a lil bit crispy outer layer and generous cream as well as cute mini pop corn bucket on the side.
