Ecco il Ristorante located just a few minutes from South Yarra station and has been around for decades. A small charming classic Italian restaurant with their own woodfire oven, serving authentic Italian flavour to the locals. They also have alfresco style dining at the back in Summer, often hired for private functions.

I went in on a Saturday night, despite the small space, they managed to make it classy and comfortable and not too cramp. The staff was friendly from the get go, some of them even play with my kid. It feels homey yet classy too.

Caprese Traditionale - buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomatoes & basil dressed with EVO, salt and oregano ($18). A fresh and light start to our dinner, accompanied by sweet moscato. I like just how simple and clear the dish is but remain delicious, using high quality products.

Gnocchi di Patale Alla Sorentina - homemade potatoes gnocchi with San Marzano tomato sugo,
fior di latte and basil ($25) and Special of the day; Paccheri - pancetta, pumpkin, porcini ($30). Both of the pasta came in almost instantly after they taken away our entree. It showed us how professional they are, in term of their timings. I honestly, love both pasta. Gnocchi just melts in your mouth with fresh tomato sauce plus a lil bite and pieces of tasty cheese. Firm paccheri pasta with abundant porcini and saucy pumpkin. Yum!

Tiramisu ($14). Perfect ending indeed. I was debating between tiramisu and pannacotta but I really don't have space for two dessert today, cause I have been eating all day. I asked the friendly staff and she said she loves the tiramisu, so I picked that. She was right, so damn right. Deliciously light and decadent tiramisu, addictive to the max. The bartender also gave us special cocktail at the end.
