Whitehorse Chloe (Revisited-Invited)

This is the second time, we went in to Whitehorse Chloe. The first time around was pretty good so we are excited for the second. Aesthetic cafe located in Box Hill. Modern, bright and airy. Nicely done in terms of interior.

We first got the Smoked King Salmon Croquettes with Dashi Egg Pop, Asparagus and Poached Eggs. Best dish of the day! The Croquettes were perfectly smokey, smooth with just the best crunchy coating. The addition of the furikake avo,  enoki and the dashi egg pop too helped create one of the best Jap fusion brekkie dish in a while. Definitely a 10/10 dish for me!

Next up, we got the Smoking Croissant Benedict with home made pork belly pastrami, apple vanilla hollandaise, sweet and sour peppers and poached eggs. This dish was definitely stunning in presentation with smoke billowing out of a glass dome. Unfortunately, the flavours were a bit of a miss - the hollandaise felt like a creamy dessert sauce. The vanilla scent of the sauce left a really weird aftertaste. Paired with the equally sweet peppers and sweet croissant, I found the dish's flavours to be strange.

Lastly, we received the Fruit Bowl served on a pineapple with vanilla ice cream, and a chocolate coated vanilla ice cream (magnum-style!). The dish certainly looked impressive. The whole thing was just a bit much even for the two of us. The melted vanilla ice cream below the fruits was not pleasant to go through as it was too sweet. The addition of the chocolate coated ice cream was hard to eat, and didn't pair well with the fresh fruits.
