Sir Charles (Revisited-Invited)

Sir Charles has been around for years. Back then when it's first open, it become one of the popular spot almost instantly. It was my favourite too back then. I have to be honest, I haven't been to this place in a very long time cause it's relatively far from my place and I have been so busy.

This is the first time, I'm invited in to Sir Charles. I went straight to their signature dish; Sir Charles Benedict - panko-crumbed eggs with Sriracha hollandaise, bacon, fresh chilli on roti ($20). This dish has been there since they first open and remain there for a good reason, all time customers favourite. I remember this dish to be spectacular, back then there's not many Asian influence brunch dishes. Now with so many of them plus out of this world presentations, I got a classic vibe from this dish. Still delicious though.



Beef Short Ribs - 48hr braised beef short rib, carrot and miso puree, Japanese sweet potato, ginger, plum jus, salad of pickled daikon, shiso, plum wine vinaigrette ($25). I would like beef to be a lil bit more tender to a melt in your mouth texture. I do love the miso puree but the Japanese sweet potato was really sweet that it turns the dish to be on too sweet side. I do like the potato on it's own.

Buckwheat Pancakes - macerated plums, maple syrup, caramelized banana ice cream, almond, crispy buckwheat ($18). This is the special of the day, fluffy warm pancake stacks with abundant macerated plumps which I love. It feels healthy which is weird cause it's pancakes with ice cream but with the banana and buckwheat, it adds nutrients to the dish.
