Back in October last year, I was invited by Hotel Windsor to taste their Spring High Tea. Now, I'm back to taste their preview for Chinese New Year high tea. In my time in Melbourne, Chinese New Year certainly get bigger and bigger every year in this town. As someone who has part of Chinese heritage, I'm pretty happy about this.

Chinese New Year high tea will be held from 5th to 19th February. Head Chef of Sunda Restaurant, Khanh Nguyen and Head Pastry Chef, Jérémie Parmentier are in charge for the occasions. I'm familiat with the works of Jeremie from the last event, it's no secret I'm fond of Hotel Windsor High Tea.

Petite Savoury Pastry:
Mushroom XO rice ball, soy milk custard
Prawn toast, sweet & sour sauce

Seasonal Pastries;
“Koi” - Pineapple compote, strawberry confit, matcha sponge, vanilla ganache
Chocolate & Orange Tart
Apricot & Rosemary Macaron

Ribbon Sandwiches;
Salmon, pickled ginger, cream cheese & chive sandwich
Five spice pork, hoisin mustard mayo & pork crackling sandwich
Egg, egg yolk jam, soy paste & coriander sandwich

Scones with kumquat and cream.

On weekends, they also served dessert buffet. It's heaven for anyone who loves sweets or even want to indulge once in a while. It's a great way to spend Chinese New Year in a modern different way. They have plenty dates so for those who still have traditional obligation can be flexible and pick the dates to bring their family along. Children are very well welcome, they do have high chairs. Once again, Hotel Windsor amaze me with their creation. I still think they are arguably the best high tea in town. Most of us agreed we love the five spiced pork sandwich and the special Koi cake as well as the prawn toast.
