Neo Lemonade (Invited)

Neo Lemonade is located on the Docklands part of Collins St. The place is a lil bit hard to find, cause the google maps is not as precise. It's sitting on across Flight Centre. There's plenty of parking space around. Their menu is inspired by contemporary Australian cuisine and like many cafe nowadays, they are also focusing on seasonal produce. But it has a unique aspects due to their Chef passions, Francisco Arbelo's. He select 3 components then use the techniques of smoking and sous vide.

When I finally arrived at the place, after several time getting lost. I was impressed by the high ceiling, clean, modern vibe with a lil bit of funkiness. Started with Iced Latte ($5) and Crown Smoothies - acai, banana, cherry, dragon fruit, coconut milk ($9). They have a large group on that day, so there's numerous issues on the day. First, they have tons of order for the other smoothies that I originally order but have to change to the other one, which is fine cause the smoothies was good. The coffee is outstanding, definitely recommended for coffee breaks.

I honestly not use to of clients limiting orders anymore cause I have not receive that kind of invitation for quite some time now. They allowed us to order one starters and two main but if we want to order their steak than we are only allowed to order one main as well as two drinks. It was hot that day so I wanted something light; Burrata - tomato, fennel, balsamic ($18). The flavours was on point, amazingly clean, bright and fresh. The burrata it self was rich but not over powering and delicious. Love the cold broth.

Red Snapper Fillet - fish broth, broad beans, finger lime, nasturtium ($28) and Duck - black berries, onion, watercress ($32). Sophisticated presentation, that's what comes to mind when the dishes finally arrive on our table. There was a huge gap of time between the starters and main due to the large group. I was quite disappointed with the portions, it was small for my preferences and both me as well as my partner were still hungry when we left the premises. On the plus side, the flavours were unbelievable good. The fish has the same flavour colours as the burrata, same freshness and lightness, perfect summer dish indeed. It shows a high amount of restrain, which is amazing. The duck was my favourite, classic combination but so delicious. Tender duck, not too oily but match perfectly with fresh soury black berries. I could eat this any day, everyday.
