Mr Brightside (Invite)
Mr Brightside is a siblings of one of my favourite cafe for scones in Melbourne at Neon Tiger. One of the owner, Paul is a very friendly and generous guy. The cafe is super busy on a Saturday, full with families, couples and puppies. My kid was so happy to play with dogs, brought by their owner to the cafe. It was a sunny day so even their outdoor seatings is full.Challah French Toast - raspberry mascarpone, fresh berries & maple ($16) extra bacon ($4.8). It comes in a very generous size, much larger than most cafe in Melbourne nowadays. Simple classic combination but all good, fluffy french toast and sweet and salty flavours.
Potato Hash Browns - beef brisket, poached eggs, grain mustard sauce ($18.5). The hash browns is super crispy on the outside and a lil bit dry inside too, I wish it's a lil bit more moist or soft. I also want a lil bit more sauce in the dish, cause the brisket was pretty lean as well.
Salmon Fillet - oven roasted, salad of green beans, crispy potato, cherry tomatoes, salsa verde ($23). This is the star of the day, perfectly cooked salmon fillet with fresh salsa verde that I want more. Healthy, hearty, simple meal with generous portions. I think that's what Mr Brightside is all about.

Popped by Brightside recently. They seriously overcooked the poached eggs where it was just about all solid yolk.
ReplyDeleteSent them back, they didn't even realise it was a problem that the yolk was not runny at all and even came and asked me why I sent them back and confirm. Something's changed there as I've never had that problem in the past.
