Montibello sits in the corner of Were Street and Station Road, which is impossible to miss. It is located right across the train station. There are plenty of parking spaces in the train station in the evening if you are visiting Montibello for dinner. The place is busy during dinner time, but it was still possible to have a conversation without screaming. The customer service was beyond excellent. The staff were very friendly. They made sure every customer was content with their meals.

Mussels for starters. This is undeniably our favourite dish from the restaurant. Mussels were very fresh. It was served with Napoli sauce, which was top-notch, and the home-made focaccia bread that went really well with the Napoli sauce. The staff told us that the kitchen prepared mussels according to the number of people, so you don’t need to worry about not getting enough mussels when sharing this dish with others.

Spaghetti Carbonara as mains.
The waiter recommended spaghetti carbonara as one of our mains. The texture of the spaghetti was perfect. Instead of a creamy spaghetti carbonara, Montibello served an original Italian spaghetti carbonara with egg white, 2 cheese, and bacon. This no-cream carbonara may not be everyone’s favourite, but you can request the chef to add cream in your carbonara. The portion of this dish was just right, making sure you have room for dessert.

Dory Fish with Mediterranean Herbs (Restaurant’s Special) as mains. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The crispy outer layer was fantastic. The dory has a soft texture that melted in your mouth. This dish was served with baked potatoes, carrots, and green beans, and crispy chips on top.

Sfinci is fried Siciliian doughnuts. The six fluffy doughnuts were served with thick vincotto sauce and fresh strawberry. This dish is recommended for sharing. 
Tiramisu as dessert. Unlike the Sfinci, you will not want to share this dessert! The tiramisu is our favourite dessert. It was a good balance of coffee, cocoa, and cinnamon.

Interesting Insight:
The best-selling gnocchi ran out when we got there, so we haven’t got the chance to try them. However, considering that they ran out of gnocchi by 8 pm, we had high hopes that they were superb! The napkin was very unique.

Overall, we would definitely come back for the mussels and tiramisu, and to try the best-selling gnocchi!
