The Dorchester (Invited)

The Dorchester is a classic restaurant.Super excited to try their extensive brunch menu since they had a lot of high rating for their dinner menu. Besides its high rating at Zomato, it is perfectly located in front of luna park at St Kilda.

Because of my high expectation, I was really disappointed in the restaurant. Despite of the friendly customer service, the vibe of the restaurant was quite awkward as there was no music at all and it made us a little bit uncomfortable to talk to each other. Started with some smoothies. We tried the “pinacolada” and “banana peanut butter”. They look very simple and empty with no decoration on top of each beverages. However, they taste better than their looks.

Then move on to the classic Egg Benedict which I can guarantee you, 99% cafe in Melbourne has their own version of it on the menu.. Cant' complain about this dish since everything on the plate were spot on. However, there was nothing stand out, nothing special.

Corn n zucchini fritters. The portion was very generous and there are avocado and yogurt on the side to compliment the fritters which gave off sweet, sour and spicy flavours together. However, the fritters were a little bit undercooked, the batter was still quite wet.

Prawn linguine is one of my favourite food in general. Linguine and fresh prawn, what's not to love right? This dish is also available for lunch and dinner. Even though the pasta was a bit tasteless, the shrimp was freshly cooked and quite flavourful.
