The Original Woodstock-Fitzroy (Invited)

The Original Woodstock in North Fitzroy just went through a renovation. It closed for a while and now back with a bang. Operating as normal with wide range menu of traditional Italian food plus a little twist. Woodstock has many branch all across Melbourne by now but this is where it all started.

Not many people known they are open, so they needed a lot of exposure. Especially in zomato, they are still list as close but they are open for sure. I went there on a Saturday lunch time with my family and as usual, there's some confusion about the invite. The manager doesn't know that I'm coming, the marketing manager said she already told him and so on. But at the end, they served us their recommendation.

Nonno's Tasting Platter ($42.9). I was only aiming for their meatballs but turn out they gave us one whole platter. Super generous and it indeed look nice on the picture. Give me a lil taste of everything, rich juicy meatballs, creamy my favourite buffalo mozzarella, cured meats, melt in your mouth croquettes. Yum! Perfect to share.

We got served Special pasta of the day as well as special seafood pizza. Both pasta and pizza were really good, on point. The pasta was al dente, rich but not over powering by the tomato sauce. Pizza dough was thin, fluffy enough, warm and plenty sauce but not too soggy. But the seafood was a bit fishy.

Ended with a great note. Panna Cotta - vanilla pannacota with red wine poached pear and Bread & Butter pudding. The panna cotta was a bit dense but the poached pear has a very strong red wine taste that's it's enjoyable. But the bread and butter pudding was the clear winner. One of the best bread and butter pudding in Melbourne. The sauce was creamy, sweet and aromatic, the pudding was moist, fluffy and rich. Ohhh, I would die for this.
