Burger Bao & Beer (Invited)

Burger Bao & Beer located in the quiet street, just a few minutes away from Auburn station. From it's name, I assume that it's all about burger, bao and beer, so I have prepared my appetite for that. The place it self is simple and could use some renovation. More decoration, colours and lightings.

We start with a pot of tea not beer, the owner was there and she does not offer us any drink except water to begin with. We requested something else and she gave us tea. Then she already have something prepared for us as well.

Sichuan Chilli Beef - angus beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, sichuan chilli sauce, chipotle mayo and a choice of brioche bun and tortilla wrap ($13.9). The burger has a slight spiciness in it, not burning at all. So don't be afraid cause it's very mild. The bun was sweet nicely partnered with the chilli sauce and the beef it self was juicy. Unique in concept.

Homemade pan fried house special bao (bun) - chive, vermicelli, egg, pork mince ($4.5ea) and Homemade pan fried dumpling - pork & chive ($7.5-6pcs). What we love the most is their special bao but it's more like dumpling rather than bao filled with similar taste like san choi bao but they have chive in it. It's delicious I like it. The dumplings was nice but nothing out of the ordinary.

Sweet Custard Egg Bao ($7.2/2pcs) and Sago Dessert. Both of the dessert were sadly disappointing. The bao was dry as well as the inside and the sago was watery. In conclusion, burger, bao and beer need to be clearer in concept and there's a lot of improvement need to be make asap.
