The last time, I went to Speakseasy is for their breakfast and lunch menu, I love them. So went they contacted me again, I want to try something different and went for their dinner menu. The place is still as beautiful as ever, modern, relax but still charming.


Spiced Cured Ocean Trout - crispy rice paper, pickles, citrus cream cheese ($15) Beer & Miso Beef Ribs - cucumber ribbons, sweet chilli yoghurt, lemon ($15). Love the cured trout even on a winter days like this and those citrus cream cheese is for the win. The beef ribs was tender and comes a lil bit spicy and get's spicier as it goes.





Crispy Duck Breast - honey glazed seasonal fruits, fried spuds, baby king mushrooms, radish pistachio, sour plum jus, sweet potato crisps ($32) and Special of The Day; Crispy Skin Salmon - crushed spuds, spring onions, spinach ($28). The main take over the whole dining experiences. Both of this dish were delicious, I just wish the portions was a lil bit bigger on the duck dish. But yea, both has crispy skin and perfectly cooked. I love the rich earthy flavour on the duck dish and creamy warm delicious winter taste on the salmon.




SPK Bread and Butter pudding - poached quince, blueberries. chestnut cream, cheese, chocolate sauce ($13.5). It's a bit of disappointing ending which is comes to a shock for me cause the least time their dessert was delicious. The bread and butter pudding was so heavy it needed lighter flavours to help but the chestnut cream and sauce was also heavy, the only light element was poached quince. But, despite all that. The same chef that met my kid for breakfast last year, give him the same big cookie to bring home. That's a nice touch that I will always cherish.
