Mr Crackles is very famous and popular for their crispy pork belly. Based in Sydney and finally decided to invade Melbourne, located in the strategic Bourke St near Chinatown. As you can guess, the first weeks was pure chaos. Lining up without any end.

I tried their classic when I first came in and the classic combination was yummy but the meat has a lil bit of pork stink still in it. I figure they were busy, that may cause some inconsistency. Then I came in again and order The Bogan - crispy pork, chips, cheese, gravy on the soft bun ($14.5) and Crackling Cup ($5) for my husband, who have not try Mr Crackles before. This time, the meat was perfect. super tender, melt in your moth and crispy skin on top. Even though I prefer the classic cause bogan was rich and heavy. As for the crackling cup, must I comment? Of course, it's awesome.



I also take away their Meat only - Hong Kong style honey BBQ ($100g-$8). I do think the price is pretty steep for such a small amount of meat, they are good but nowhere near the crispy pork. They also have special rolls every month and this month is inspired by Japanese flavour, maybe I'll get that next time. Get there right when they are open at 11.30am to avoid the line or at odd hour (3/4pm).
