Matilda Cafe is a new cafe in the busy main street of Armadale. I went in on a Sunday morning and as usual there's a miscommunication between the marketing agency and the owner. They have a huge event of 60th birthday that took most of the space. The owner apologise many times and gave us a table anyway. He is so friendly, a warm man who happily accomodate me and my family.

Cauliflower & Corn Fritters - oven baked cauliflower, fresh corn kennels. house spices, mozzarella cheese, organic beetroot hummus, rocket, tomato salsa, poached egg ($19). The fritters was golden and crisp with fluffy inside with generous beetroot hummus. Wonderful unique ingredients together in one plate.

Gozleme - spiced lamb mince filling ($14). Gozleme is a traditional Turkish filled pastry served with yoghurt and can be filled by many savoury stuff but dessert is also possible such as filled by hot nutella or berries. It reminds me of Indonesian savoury martabak, yums and delicious. Perfect comfort food even nice for snacks.

Lemon Risotto - baked risotto, lemon zest, almond milk, poached pears ($16.5). This is the first sweet risotto ever. Turn's out it's pretty nice, closer to breakfast porridge but a touch heavier. Love the almond milk, making it lighter than cows milk which the dish need cause risotto is heavier than normal porridge. I want the poached pears to be slightly softer than it would be perfect, still love em anyway.

The place gets a lil loud when all of the guest arrived and my baby chair got bumb multiple times but beside that, the food is pretty good, the owner is so friendly. I can imagined without the event, the cafe is nice.
