Mama Manoush (Invited)

Mama Manoush is a spacious space with high ceilings and Middle Eastern flare. It's so airy and bright with natural colours on day time but on night time, it has dim yellow lighting, romantic with Middle Eastern ethnic elegance. They also have Mama Garden at the back for functions, used to be Lady Carolina.

I went in on a Saturday by appointment for Mama Garden but turns out, there's miscommunication between the marketing agency and the restaurant cause they actually have a function that day. So I can't dine in there. But thankfully, the owner said that I can dine in at Mama Manoush instead since I'm already there. So we did. He prepare a feast for us.

We were given generous mezza to start with such as Falafel, Chicken Wingettes, Cheese Sambousik and Mixed Dip Sampler Platter. Yes, that's a lot and we love them. Our favourite is the chicken wing, it's perfectly cooked; crispy but still tender and freshly seasoned with a hint of acid. Unique, unlike any other flavour on chicken wings. My kid loves the healthy falafel as well as the stringy cheesy sambousik. Honestly, I love this version of sambousik than the regular sambousik.

For main, we were served Sheikh El Koussa, Lahem Meshwi and Shish Tawook. We thought the starters are good but the main trump everything we have tasted that day. I would never order stuffed zucchini but seriously, it's delicious. Apparently, it's a dish traditionally served on special occasion. Minced meat, tomato, parsley, onion, laban and pine nuts stuffed in 25 Zucchini served with saffron rice and delicious refreshing sauce. This is a must try, it has a taste of healthy comfort food. Love em. Their lamb and chicken skewers were also delicious, both so tender and flavourful. Another recommended dish.

As the dessert, we got Baclava Ice Cream. Honestly, I was hoping for the Mama's Halwa or Baclava Fingers. Well, it comes in a super generous three scoop portions with a cone. We did find it enjoyable but it's pretty average. I like the real baclava much better.
