Frank's (Revisited-Invited)

The last time I went to Franks, I was pretty impressed by their doughnut dish as well as their super amazing coffee thick shake. When the second invitation came in, all I can think about is those thick shake. This time, I went with my husband instead of my mom and I did not bring my kid. Last time, he was just a baby, sitting in his stroller, now he's already in childcare. How time flies.

Smoked Salmon - creme fraiche, sauce vierge, poached eggs, asparagus, beetroot hummus, sprouts, radish, rye ($21). This is one of the dish, recommended by the staff and I can see why. The colour is so vibrant and it's all about healthy, fresh and light. My husband does not like beetroot but he did like the beetroot hummus in this dish, it ties the whole dish together.

Chilli Scrambled Eggs - buffalo mozzarella, chilli scramble tomato, chili bechamel, sourdough ($17) add lamb, rosemary, garlic sausage ($4). While the salmon is more of a cold dish and boast fresh healthy greens, this dish is all about warm in your stomach. Generous portions with melt in your mouth egg and bits of pieces of bouncy buffalo mozzarella, that I love so much. Topped with super delicious lamb sausage, packed full of flavours from the herb.

Instead of the doughnut, the staff wanted me to try the brand new Golden Gaytime Panna Cotta - toffee, caramel, chocolate mousse, candied hazelnut ($13). My husband has been watching MasterChef constantly and all the panna cotta gets to him. So he is very happy about this. While, I can see thick layer of panna cotta in the glass, when I scoop it in, the chocolate mousse dominate the flavours. Still delicious but all chocolaty.
