Cafe Blush (Invited)

Cafe Blush is a brand new cafe under new management. The interior does not change at all despite new couture flower hanging from the ceilings but it's okay cause the current interior is still classy and elegant. Lucky for us, Calia group is the one who take over the cafe.

It has come to my radar since the take over began but the owner Jason Chang, ask me to wait until they take over is done and the new menu is perfect for a launch. Finally, the message from Jason came to my inbox. My waiting period is done, it's to taste their delicious Japanese fusion pasta.

I'm so glad they keep some of the iced tea menu cause they are so refreshing and delicious, especially on summer. Iced Peach & Basil Tea ($7.5), Iced Mango Tea ($7.5), Fresh OJ ($6.5) and Babycino. Originally, we ordered iced tea for us and the OJ for the baby but the friendly staff suddenly bring out the super cute babycino for the baby. That's the kind of hospitality I love.

Slow Cooked Chicken Soup ($9.9) and curly fries ($9.9) comes first, as expected for appetiser and perfect cause the baby is already hungry. The soup comes in a petit size, nice for kids but for adults maybe a bit too small. My baby love the rich clear chicken soup so much and my husband love the super crispy generous curly fries.

Then, this is what I have been waiting for; Mentaiko Pasta ($19.6), Clam Miso Pasta ($21) and Carbonara ($18.9). The mentaiko pasta strike to be the first runner with al dente spaghettini, perfectly cooked onsen egg and nori but at the end it's a bit too rich for me but still delicious. I always love vongole pasta and this linguine with white wine and miso is the Japanese version of it, nicely done. Light but remain flavourful with generous medium size clams (most cafe's use small size). This one is pure cause I'm craving for carbonara pasta, perfect 63 degree egg with generous parmesan and pancetta, on this one I miss the cream part but besides that, it's good.

At the end, we are way too full for dessert but I have made another appointment with Jason to taste their high tea so I figure, I hold my self back then try all of their sweets later on. So wait for my next blog post.
