Phat Stacks (Invited)

Amidst all the Asian restaurants lies Phat Stacks, an urban burger joint that also sells instaworthy thick shakes. Their interiors is sort of a mix of clean-gritty urban with a large graffitti strewn across the main wall and R&B tunes playing in the background. Fun fact: their shakes menu is based on Bruno Mars songs!

We got 2 burgers to share. The first one was the Piggy Bank burger consisting of pork belly, chili and honey mayo sauce. The pork belly was cooked to perfection and the honey mayo sauce was a nice accompaniment to the pork. Overall the burger was a tad too salt but you could really tell that the pork was marinated really well and the marinade was super tasty.

Next up I tried a bit of The Blue Baller with beef, gorgonzola, caramelised onions, baked mushroom. Like the pork belly, the beef and mushroom was super tender and juicy. I couldn't really taste the gorgonzola but that's not necessarily a bad thing for me because I don't like blue cheese! But my partner thinks The Blue Baller was a solid burger. As a blue cheese lover, looking at it on the menu really wet my whistle. Yet it wasn’t as strong as he would love.)

Now on to the piece-de-resistance: the 24K Magic. The lovely manager brought the platter and we watched a little liquid nitrogen show that made the thickshake look altogether more luxurious. The fererro rocher was literally coated in gold and I felt giddy as I bit into it. The shake was super creamy and oozing with rich nutella goodness. They will be introducing a no-doubt spectacular list of cocktail selection soon so stay tuned!
