I had the privilege to have dinner at Curry Smuggler. Located in Fitzroy, the restaurant is easily reachable by tram or car. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the warmth feeling of traditional Indian restaurant. The restaurant feels authentic and familiar. It got my appetite rising.

We started with a very refreshing and delightful mango lassi, which is one of my most favorite drinks.

The next dish we had was the Lamb Cutlet, marinated in spiced and cooked in Tandoori oven. I had to say, it was fantastic. The lamb is juicy, the spices are spot on, and the smokey flavor of the Tandoori, brings the dish to live even more.

Our next appetiser was the Tandoori mushrooms. Continuing the flavor of Tandoori, the mushroom is cooked beautifully, you dont just get the mushroom taste, but the spice is baked inside them.  A very enjoyable dish.

We moved to main dishes. The first one we had was the Tawaa goat which was on special that day. I can't really describe it any other way, it is amazing. It is sitting up there with some of the best curry dish I have tried. The meat is so tender, the curry is amazingly tasty, the added onion makes perfect sense. Above all, the flavour combination just works, and works amazingly well. Definitely the best dish here.

The next dish was beef korma cooked with yoghurt, cream cashew nut and mild spice. A very balance dish in overall, beef is tender, and curry taste nice. I enjoyed having this with the amazing cheese and honey naan. Talking about naan, it was definitely one of the naan I have ever had. The honey is perfect to compliment the cheese.

Overall, it was an amazing experience, and even more fantastic food. Highly recommended for anyone who favor Indian food, you can't get anything better than Curry Smuggler. I will definitely be back for some curry goodness!
