I was invited to 48 Hour restaurant in Elsternwick recently, having been to the other 48 Hour restaurant, I was excited to try their food again.

When I got there, I was greeted with the warm environment and the vibrant greeting of Italian restaurant, every bit that I expected from them. The place was beautiful and spacious. The lightning was perfect, and I sat down and ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

I decided to go with the Prosciuttto and Bufala platter, a nice combination of mean and cheese platter to start of. The prosciutto tasted amazing and the cheese was fantastic. Combined with bread, and you got a perfect starter for the day.

For the main, I decided to go with the special and ordered black and white gnocchi, with zucchini flower Patagonia wild red prawn goat cheese and Italian saffron. Boy of boy it was delicious! The seasoning is spot on, the prawn is juicy, and the gnocchi is perfect. The dish had enough flavour but not too over powering. It was a perfect dish.

To close off, I ordered one of my favourite desserts, and that is the Tiramisu. I don’t know about you but I don’t feel that eating Italian meals is complete without Tiramisu. It was as I expected. Beautiful tiramisu with nice coffee flavour and subtle cream flavour. It was a perfect way to close off the dinner.

Overall, I am really happy with my food experience. I can’t recommend 48 Hour highly enough, especially if you are a gnocchi lover!
