Down The Rabbit Hole (Invited)

We took the bus to get to Down the Rabbit Hole and I've never been to this area before. Very peaceful, the cafe is located in a small shopping street. The cafe was packed but we were lucky to get seats in their lovely courtyard area where all the sun was out! Doesn't hurt that the staff were all so lovely!

We first got their Yuzu Benedict which came with rosti, hollandaise and the special Yuzu dust. The rosti was pretty good although it was slightly soggy. The eggs were perfectly poached. Overall it was a nice take on a traditional eggs benny.

Next up was the croque monsieur. I forgot to say no pickles and the mustardy cheese filling was slightly too sour for me. But nevertheless the croque was perfectly toasted with all the crunchy cheesy bits on the outside and savoury softness on the inside.

Finally was their Maxijohn - gingerbread waffles with lemon and blueberry semmifreddo, blueberry gel, lemon curd and meringue. I'm not a big fan of spicy Christmassy flavours but the waffle texture was just perfect! Crunchy without being the slightest bit soggy. The semifreddo and the acidity from the curd was so refreshing too!

They also generously gave us three of their specialty bronuts! I personally liked their Blue Heaven flavour first because the texture was just airy enough for me. The frosting for the oreo donut was perfect but I just felt that the dough was too dense.
