Diesel is a brand new restaurant in the middle of Melbourne CBD, serving breakfast. lunch, dinner, bar even late night fun with DJ's. Specialise in Asian fusion dishes with straight forward minimalistic menu.

With a guest list of 800 people (wow), we were not expecting Diesel to be this packed! Located right next to Mecca Maxima, Diesel has two floors. The first one has a sort of bronze coffee roastery look to it, whilst the second floor has a more darker ambience to it.

There were some finger food going around but the venue was so packed, that I could barely eat anything. It was so packed that an hour into the opening, a lot of people just waited in front of the opening of the kitchen counter where the waitress would go out to serve the finger food. Yep, she didn't manage to go out at all because the tray was finished with the crowd blocking her way! Apparently the second floor didn't get any food and I didn't know that so I was a little 'late' to try the food.

I did manage to get a spring roll which tasted standard and the bang bang chicken which was slightly better. Pretty good deep fried chicken that's been marinated with a some soy, sesame and chili.
