Rococo (Invited)

Rococo is a well known Italian restaurant in Melbourne with two locations; the famous Acland St and Glenferrie Road. Both venue are spacey and comfortable, perfect for group bookings, functions or simply family with kids. They served extensive Italian menu starting from small plates to larger main and dessert.

I decided to visit Glenferrie Road, I have passed by Rococo many times. It has a big black and white signage with attractive outdoor area with umbrella in front of the restaurant. They have an open bar as well as natural lighting from the big window throughout the restaurant. Parking is also relatively easy since there are plenty of street parkings around.

Char-Grilled Calamari - chilli, garlic, lemon marinade, parsley ($8.5) and Saffron Arancini - parmesan, fontina, smoky paprika, pumpkin puree ($8.5/2pcs) I find the calamari a lil bit over cooked even though the seasonings were nice. We love the saffron arancini especially mixed with the super smooth pumpkin puree.

Bianco Salsiccia - pork & fennel sausage, black olives, mushrooms, caramelised onion, fior di latte, provolone cheese & dried chilli ($23) and Linguine with Pan Fried Prawns - garlic, chilli, baby spinach, basil, olive oil ($33). Both comes in a generous size with generous toppings which I always appreciate. The pasta was light but the succulent prawn simply beautiful and the pizza was packed full of flavour with thin base but still has some crispiness. We also have perfectly fried sweet potato fries on the side.

Strawberries & Cream - merigue, fresh poached strawberries, mascarpone, vanilla, strawberry ice cream, macadamia nuts, white chocolate, strawberry liqueur ($14) and 'Zeppole' Italian Donut - vanilla ice cream, orange caramel syrup, candied pistachios, cinnamon sugar ($15). The Strawberry and cream was fresh, light and beautifully presented and the donut simply fluffy, sweet and light.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The staff was so friendly and accomodating, even though they are pretty busy and I think they needed more staff. I would gladly recommend Rococo for family with kids and prams who are looking for spacious venue.
