Mayday mayday! A unique name for a brunch place isn't it? They had a spacious and cozy place to dine in with a perfect natural lights for you who love to take photos. Their menu is changing every 4 months but they also had some fixed menu. A point I like is they provide a bench to sit while you wait for your take away coffee.

Mayday has been on my list for a long time and yet I seem to get distracted all the time. Now, I know I have to come in soon since all of their food look amazing. They have been in Melbourne for quite some time and standing strong. Another plus point is they use Axil for their coffee and I tried their mocha. It was a good coffee indeed.

I tried their fixed menu which is dry aged scotch fillet steak sandwich  on the chargrilled sourdough. If you prefer a dish where it is more into sweet, you gonna love this steak sandwich ! The house made bbq sauce and the onion jam blended perfectly. The steak is slightly overcooked and if the steak more salty a little bit it will be the best because the melted cheese is not strong enough.

The presentation of the bacon chop benedict is tempting and made me really hungry. The crumpet is superb with parmesan and chives in it, the texture is similar to banana bread but lighter. Their pickled cabagge are fresh but not too sour which is perfect. I am in love wih this dish

I ordered the spiced pumpkin waffle for my dessert. This pumpkin waffle is mind blowing. When I heard pumpkin is their dominant flavour for this sweet dish, I wasn't sure about the taste and my expectation went lower. When I came into first bite, I could tell this waffle is one of the must try waffle in Melbourne. The waffle is so fluffy and not too sweet - the sweetness is just precise. It was completed by the crumbs and the cinnamon mascarpone. This is a well presentation and yummy sweet dish which I will come back for !

They said their menu is coming soon, I can't wait to come back and try it. I also can't wait to see the next innovation ahead. I guess I'll be back next to find out my self. And as the cafe is quite big, I can bring my baby with me.
