Fergus Coffee located in Wattletree Rd, Malvern East reachable by tram and also public transport. There's plenty street parking around even though Malvern could get busy at times even though it's weekdays.

We came to Fergus café close to lunch time, it was very busy when we came. The café had indoor and outdoor spots. The interior design was modern and rustic look and feel. We took the outdoor one as it was nice weather outside. We were welcome by Patrick (Manager), he looked after us really well.

We ordered two of their breakfast menu, the first is Avocado & Meredith Goat cheese smash with the homemade sweet chilli jam on toast add a poached egg. The breakfast dish was recommended by the customer staff as it is one of the favourite breakfast dishes. The presentation of the dish was beautiful and colourful, it was very appealing. The portion was very generous and the taste was absolutely fantastic when you eat the toast bread with goat cheese, avocado and homemade sweet chilli jam drizzled with lemon. It had balance taste between the sweet, sour and salty. They actually sell the homemade chilli jam separately and on that day it was completely sold out. We would definitely recommend this breakfast dish.

The second breakfast dish is Ricotta & blueberry hot cakes topped with vanilla bean cream, strawberries & side of French cream anglaise. The presentation of the hot cakes was beautiful served with all fresh fruits (blueberries, strawberries) on side. The first thing we did was to pour the French cream anglaise on top of the hot cakes before we tried this one. The taste was very nice, the chef was totally nailed this dish. The hot cakes wasn’t too sweet which made the dish really good because it wasn’t overpower the natural sweetness from the fruits.

We also order one lunch menu; Soft shell crab burger with slaw, coriander, lime mayo with chips and aioli. The soft shell crab was perfectly cooked, it was served with crispy and tasty chips. The seasoning of the chips was just right. We enjoyed every single bite of the burger mixed between the taste of soft shell crab and coleslaw; not forget to mention that the bun was really fresh.
It would be better if the coleslaw would be sliced thinner because as soon as we did our first bite the coleslaw fell down from the bun as it was slightly to thick and it wasn’t sticky inside the bun.

We’d like to say big thank you to Patrick. The customer service was absolutely professional and top class as they served all customers with smile, warm welcome and passion. They were very attentive as well.
