Son in Law (Revisited-Invited)

Son in Law is one my favourite Thai restaurant in town and I believe one of the top Thai casual dining in town. It has been opened for a year and remain to be popular and innovative. I have been to Son in Law many times and have written two reviews, this is my third review. This time I try to order everything that I never order before with only thai milk tea and tom yum soup as an exception.

I honestly love the bright, colourful interior, always has. This is the first time for my mom to visit Son in Law and she fall in love with it, just like I am. I was so excited to order their innovative, completely Instagrammable drinks; Thai Ice Milk Tea, Green Milk Tea and Rainbow Fairy Floss Milk & Marshmallows. Love the three of them.

We started with some small plates; Crispy Barramundi Fillets ($14), Prawn Tom Yum Soup ($10). The tom yum is as good as ever, I can vouch for their consistency cause I have eaten their tom yum soup at least 10 times in the past year. Their barramundi is nicely fried with spices such as chilli, mint coriander and crispy shallots. Nicely done indeed.

Then move on to something bigger; Crispy Soft Shell Crab & Tiger Prawns ($16), Twice Cooked Crispy Pork Belly ($16) and brand new Charcoal Chicken Pad Thai ($16.9). The soft shell crab simply crispy with succulent prawn, drawn in sweet thai green curry. Cool me down from the crispy pork belly with chilli jam. Then end nicely with the innovative sweet pad thai. This is the first time I seen black pad thai and I like them.

Dessert is a must ! Steamed Coconut Pandan Puddings ($9) and Green Milk Tea Sizzerling Roti ($15). I tried the thai milk tea roti before and it's slightly too sweet for me but this green milk tea is perfect for me. The roti is nice and char with aromatic green tea without being overly sweet. The pandan puddings is to die for, it's warm, aromatic, traditional with perfect sweetness.

Honestly, I love them all and I will be back for more, always! My mom completely love our visit and she also like all the colours of wall. Vibrant and fun. The service is fast as usual, friendly and accomodating. Son in Law remain a place that I love to dine in for Thai food.
