Paninoteca S.p.A concept comes from the owner Sicilian heritage of Sicilian well known street food. Especially paninotecas means sandwich shops that covers most Sicilian province. In results, cute small cafe with a kitsch vibe located up in quiet Coburg specialising in paninis was born. They use the freshest local produce as well as International product to create the best dish for the customers.

The shop it self was small but has a unique characteristic in it. Retro sign in front with bright red colour palette. Suiting for a traditional Italian sandwich shop. Minimal decoration inside with fresh produce displayed on the glass cabinet.

Crema di Caffe. We started off with the Crema di Caffe which was a creamy, almost thickshake like, sweetened coffee cream. It was amazing! It was sweet with hints of bitterness from the coffee and was just the perfect antidote to my rumbling stomach.

We were next served up their handcut chips and Arancinis. The chips were well seasoned and although they were thickly cut, they were still very crisp. The Arancinis were addictingly good as well! We got their Funghi arancini which was crisp but cheesily gooey on the inside. Just jam packed with mushroom goodness! The Sicilian one came with beef and peac and although I liked the funghi one better, this one still retained the crisp, chewy gooey texture that I enjoyed.

Next up was the Melanzane which was essentially an eggplant lasagna. Rather than pasta sheets, layers of eggplants were paired up with tomato sauce. Whilst I like normal lasagnas better, the melanzane was probably a healthier take and was definitely flavoursome.

Last but not least was the Chicken Cofoletta panini. Coming with tomatoes, lettuce, housemade mayo and chicken schnitz, the panini was pretty good. I enjoyed the tangy mayo and the crisp fresh lettuce but I would've liked more seasoning on the schnitz.
