Caffe e Cucina is a place I have been before and I love it. It has been in Melbourne for a very long time in the iconic Chapel St, South Yarra. Recently, they opened a new petit pasta restaurant also at South Yarra named Cucinetta. I have been there and I also love my experience there.

Polentina Fritta con Fonduta al Tartufo e Pate d'Anatra ($25). This dish consist of fried polenta with soup of Montasio cheese fondue, my favourite shaved black truffle topped with duck liver pate. Do I need to elaborate more? All the ingredients speaks for it self, crispy outer layer of polenta with soft inside, super creamy cheesy cheese then smooth duck liver pate. Just simply delicious.

Carpaccio di Manzo ($24). Very thinly slice beef carpaccio with super airy cheesy fresh gorgonzola foam that I can eat everyday. Crunchy hazelnut added texture to the dish as well radicchio and the fresh apple. Everything was great but there's too much radicchio on the plate.

Filetto di Manzo ai Porcini ($42) extra foie gras 10gr ($10). Nicely cut eye fillet with creamy aromatic porcini mushrooms and crispy cabbage and buttery bread crostone in the bottom of the dish. The foie gras it self was super delicious and beautiful.

Pasta of The Day: Ravioli al Cioccolato con Gorgonzola e pistacchio. My husband always has a certain attraction for stuffed pasta such as gnocchi and ravioli. Last week, he had chosen gnocchi so he opted for ravioli with chocolate. Sadly, the pasta was too thick for our taste and the filling was too heavy as well even though the touch of chocolate was nice and creative.

Tiramisu Tradizionale ($16.5) and Pannacotta ($16.5). The tiramisu was delicious, creamy with strong coffee flavour. I liked their pannacotta so much on my last visit but this time I'm not too crazy about it. It was a bit dense and heavy even though the flavour combination was nice.

The place was as romantic as ever, dim lighting with wall full of art. Clearly reminded me of Italian restaurant in the alley of Rome. Perfect place for date night with your love ones. The restaurant is perfect for two or four people, larger than that would be a lil it difficult since they have limited space.
