Mrs Kim's Grill is the result of a Korean migrant wanting to share her authentic home food to wider Melbourne community. Her recipes and traditional method in marinating meat, Mrs Kim's Grill was open in 2013 with the same flavour as she always served in her home.

I was craving for Korean BBQ on a Friday night but sadly not much of BBQ restaurant around my house. When I found one on zomato and it has a good ratings, I called them straight away to make a reservations. Unfortunately, they were fully booked the whole weekend. The next available seatings is on Monday dinner time so I booked it for my mom, my husband and I. The restaurant it self has two storey, mixed seatings between dining tables and bar stools, dark and pretty hot especially on summer days since the air conditioner were not sufficient plus all the BBQ were on. I ordered their Green Tea ThickShake ($7.5) and I love it, it was indeed creamy, cold with perfect sweetness and matcha.

We ordered Moo Set - famous marinated galbi beef ribs 350g and skirt steak 200g with a choice of 6 salads, I picked tomato & avocado salsa, vegie parcel, soup of the day and rice for two ($45) which was recommended by the staff. The tomato avocado salsa comes in a generous size and perfect for summer since it was refreshing, the soup was also flavoursome and all the beef was well marinated and tender.

Instead of ordering another set, we ordered Chilli Pork Belly 250g ($16) and Ox Tongue 150g ($17). The pork belly was pretty disappointing, full of oil, a bit mushy instead of burst into flavour but the ox tongue was pretty decent.

What my mom was impressed about Mrs Kim's Grill is their service, they have so many staff and they are all on alert. Paying attention to every detail of what we might need, more water, grilling our meat, and more. Flavour wise it the beef was good but the pork needed to be improved or maybe next time I'll try the other cut. I also want to try their Black Sesame ThickShake.
