Pufflets (Invited)

Pufflets is a brand new Hong Kong Waffle place in Melbourne CBD. Hong Kong Waffle has been in trend since last year but there's no proper Hong Kong Waffle place in CBD so about time, Pufflets enter the market. The whole interior will be completed by the end of May, swing set, tables and chairs will be added as well.

One of my friend known the owner and she, her self also work there at Pufflets. Then the owner invite me for a preview on their opening week. I was really excited since I love desserts and Asian drinks. I also honestly love their logo, I think it's smart, super cute and very versatile on many occasions.

First, I ordered the Build Your Own Pufflets: Matcha puffle with white choc ooze and cookies n cream gelato. The matcha puffle was nice with light matcha flavour and the matcha dust on top adds strong matcha flavour, blends very nicely with the pufflets. The gelato it self was milky but not too sweet. I would love to see the matcha flavour in the Waffle Specialties area.

50 Shades of Durian - durian puffle with durian ooze, durian gelato, durian wafer cubes, crunchy nut sprinkles and surian puree drizzle ($15.5). Like it's name the gelato has a strong durian flavour as well as extra strong durian sauce but the puffle it self was a bit blend to balance the other strong flavour in the dessert. This is perfect for durian lovers.

Sultan of Pandan - pandan puffle with white choc chip ooze, coconut gelato, crushed peanut candy, pandan & coconut agar agar, coconut wafer, kaya drizzle ($13). The pandan puffle it self was delicious, crispy but fluffy inside with strong pandan taste but I would like richer coconut gelato as well as more kaya drizzle on it.

Taiyaki - red bean fillings, mixed green tea and milk tea soft served ($9.5). The taiyaki has a nice crispiness outside and moist inside but a lil more red bean fillings would be nice, both green tea and milk tea soft served was decent.

Love the presentations, it's definitely Instagrammable but prepare tissues cause the ice cream melts quickly and it could be a mess. But I would love to hang out in this place once they completed their interior. Strategic locations, near tram stops, cute place with dessert and drinks, what's not to like?
