OneThirtyTwo (Invited)

OneThirtyTwo is a cafe located in 132 Chapel St. It's no brainer the name of the cafe is the same with their street numbers. Reachable by train, tram as well as private vehicles. On weekdays, there are plenty of street car parking around but on weekends it could be challenging since Chapel St and Windsor area is pretty packed on weekends.

I was invited by the owner to have a taste of their dishes. We crossed path on Instagram then decided to visit on a weekdays with my mom and my lil baby. The cafe it self is pretty spacious, divided into three spaces; petit outdoor space in front, indoor space before the counter, then at the back with open kitchen. We started our lunch with warm creamy chai latte and hot chocolate.

Homemade Eggplant Parmigiana and Bacon & Egg. Their eggplant parmigiana is one of the popular dishes according to the staff, my mom eager to try it and it does not disappoint. Cheesy but not overwhelming, soft as well as warm. We bought some home and my brother loves it too.

I, my self opted for Special of The Day: Smoked Salmon with potato roesti, roquette, poached eggs ($20). Sadly, the whole dish was a bit too blend and dry for me. An addition of creamy, salty, tasty hollandaise sauce would make this dish shine and totally transform this dish to something flavourful.

Special of The Day: French Toast with bacon, banana, maple syrup, pecans ($18.5). This is definitely the highlight of the meal. The french toast was fluffy with perfectly made bacon, super crispy and tasty. Love their bacon so much, as well as the banana. It was sweet and nicely partnered with the maple syrup and pecans.

The visit was short since we are limited by the street parking in front, that only allow us to stay one hour but the hospitality by the two owners was warm, friendly and very accomodating. I spotted a couple of regulars in the cafe and the owners notice them, greeted them nicely and remember their orders. That's another plus point. I would love to try their pancake next time I'm around.
