Long Story Short (Revisited-Invited)

Long Story Short have a big space for restaurant that has simple and classic decoration with white colour domination which made the restaurant looks really clean and tidy. I have been to their old location at Richmond and also to their new location at Port Melbourne for an event.

I was invited to taste their brand new menu. We got a choice one savoury and one dessert of their new lunch and dinner menu. Started with the drinks I chose Sidro Del Bosco - Italian apple cider. It was a nice, short finish, and light sizzling beer to start my dining experience.

For food I chosen Activated Charcoal Fish and Chips which contain a fish on the beetroot labneh that covered with black (came from the charcoal) deep fried flour. To be honest the fish wasn't really tasty as expected, but surprisingly the beetroot labneh was yummy! It tied everything together. The Thai Salad was awesome, it was tasty and fresh. We also got chips with a sesame honey dipping sauce, it was decent.

My partner got The Slow Cooked Cold Drip Coffee Pork Ribs. It was super tender, just simply melted in your mouth. The meat was sweet, I hope it can be a lil bit more savoury to balanced the sweetness. The dish comes with vietnamese slaw and chilli on the top, variation of pineapple and red garnet for the garnish.

Next is all about dessert. I got the Green Apple Pannacota with Almond Soil and Fruit Variations. The appearance of this dessert was beautiful, colourful yet elegant. The texture of the pannacota was perfect. The flavour of the green apple stands out in the dish and the pannacotta was creamy enough. The fruit variations were fresh, perfectly suited with almond soil.

My partner's dessert was the popular Fairy Floss Dessert Burger. I was so curious how they camouflage a burger into a dessert and my expectation was 100% satisfied. It came as a big fairy floss on the plate and wait until you pour the coconut milk. The hidden yummy dessert burger will come out after all the fairy floss melted. The taste was not too sweet with the honeycomb gelato as its fillings, popping candy, white chocolate matcha sauce fruit salad bits and yes I would recommend it. It's worth it to try but caution it has a big portion for dessert that make you feel really full afterwards.

Some other bloggers on the event ordered;Asian Mushroom Gnocchi, Crispy Skin Marinated Salmon,Deconstructed Souvlaki, Buttermilk Tim Tam Pancakes and Cold Drip Coffee Tiramisu. Overall, it was a fun, entertaining event, full of unique dishes.
