Johnnie Walker Grand Prix Penthouse Party (Invited)

On Saturday, I went to the Johnnie Walker Penthouse Party that was held in The Emerson. The Emerson is a nightclub located at Commercial Rd, South Yarra. From the outside, the place looks like any other old victorian building. However, in the inside their design is practically modern. Before we enter the place, they made sure that we were on the list and they gave us wristbands as indication that we were already checked.

When we entered the building, there was a photo spot for rsvps who wanted to take a snap. But those who didn’t could straightly went upstairs to the second floor. That was where the party started and we were welcomed with drinks. Unfortunately, I found the place was way too crowded which made it impossible for us to walk to the other side of the room, especially with the dimmed lights. Few staffs were trying to serve small snacks and we tried some of them which was just okay.

After a while, we finally did manage to go across the room and saw that there was U shape seating/table areas on one side of the room, unfortunately it wasn’t open for the Johnnie Walker event. Then we followed people around and found the third floor, where there was another bar but this one was better which was brighter than the second. But the music was louder and the atmosphere was more vibrant. We wandered around the third floor which also has the rooftop area with open bar and seatings. It was big, but not so spacey since there were too many people at once. But we enjoyed the decorations and small live attractions they provided. There was a girl with fire attraction, then another girl was showing off her flexibility on top of an ‘X’ shape lighted table.

More snacks and drinks were also served by the staffs, such as lamb on sticks and beef. The savoury snacks were really nice but of course they were not enough to make us full. So after around 1 hour we decided to leave to get dinner. It would be so much better if there were not many people invited at once, since they have an amazing furniture and design. But it was a shame because people couldn’t really enjoy it all. Even though, I do understand it's a party indeed since there were plenty of drinks around.
