Sister of Society (Revisited-Invited)

Sister of Society was established in 2016. It has pretty red "SOS" neon sign on the wall. The outdoor setting of this place is pretty as well decorated with lights. It is such a comfortable place to hang out, especially at night.

I was invited to Sister of Society launch party last year and can't believe months has past then I received another invite from them. This time is to taste some of their food in a proper dining manner. We started with some cocktail. Refreshing especially in summer season like this. I could taste the tropical in the drink. It helps me to clean my palate as well. Then Beer by Sisterbrew. This is their signature beer. It goes well together with all the foods that were served for us.

Angry Birds - deep fried signature chicken ribs with secret spices wok tossed with onion, spring onion and dried chilli (6pcs/$13). The herb sauce is a bit too strong for my preference. It taste better without the sauce. I like the crispiness of the chicken though. However, nothing too special about the chicken.

Sesame Dumpling - house made steamed dumplings with tanarai, sesame, black vinegar dressing with a choice of chicken & prawn or vegetarian (5pcs/$11).The skin a bit too thick and the soup is so little inside. Its too salty though.

Crispy Tuna Roll - aromatic tuna with crispy panko wrap and nori garnish ($3pcs/$14). The skin of this dish is so crunchy yet the tuna inside is like a soft floss. Topped with mayo and seaweed to complete the overall taste. Again, it goes well with cocktail because it's like a fingerfood.

Braised Beef Rendang - slow cooked braised beef with rich cream coconut, tamarind and potato ($23). The meat is so tender and they sprinkle some coconut on top of it. Nothing too special about the taste.

Passionfruit Mango Pudding ($8). It's a bit too sweet for my preference. Need a bit of sourness from the passionfruit. However, the texture is perfect, soft and melt in our mouth. The place it self was vibrant, modern and attractive as I remembered it last year and the service was clearly much better than the launching party since this was a proper meal. It's a good place to hang out for nibbles or after work drinks.
