Fat Bob's Bar & Grill

Fat Bob's of course started with a man name Bob who loves his ice cold beer, big burgers, vintage signs, cool cars and hot rods. It was back in 2011, when he was in USA he got an idea of opening his own man cave back home in Melbourne. A little over 18 months after that, his vision became real and Fat Bob quickly become one of the most popular burger in the area.

I have been wanting to try Fat Bob's for a long time, despite the closeness to my home I did not have a chance to try it until now. Upon entering I was amaze by all the details of the decoration in the restaurant, whether it's outside, inside or upstair. I love a full on decorated theme restaurant and I rarely find it in Melbourne, at least not as much as in Asia. I started my early dinner Chocolate Milk Shakes ($7.5) and White Iced Tea with White Nectarine ($4.5). Both are pretty decent but average.

Simplex - 190g gras-fed beef pattie with cheese and tomatoes sauce ($13). I ordered simplex for a purpose, I want to taste the bun and the beef pattie just as it is without being over shine by the other ingredients. The bun was good but there was nothing special about it, the pattie it self is delicious, juicy, tender and flavourful by it self.

My husband opted for Fat Bob - 180g gradd-fed beef pattie, beetroot, tomato, red onion, tasty cheese, bacon, pineapple, egg, cos lettuce with tomato sauce ($18.5) and fat bob sauce ($1). He is a burger lover and he did enjoyed his burger so much that he wanted to come back. Maybe a little bit of extra such as avocado or bacon jam could be added into the menu later on.

The restaurant was really busy despite we came in on for a very early dinner, lot's of table have been reserved even though the restaurant has plenty of seats. We were seated in the hall and we got to ordered on table but we have to pay on the counter once we have done eating. The burger came in quite quickly and honestly, it was a nice dinner.
