Ladurée's is a Parisian well known and popular tea room started in 1862 with the Ladurée family. Louis Ernest Ladurée founded a bakery at 16 rue Royale and in 1871 Baron Haussman transform it into a pastry shop. The decoration was by Jules Cheret, a a famous painter and poster artist. Time goes by and now Ladurée become an International brand and one of the most well known macaron brand.

I was really excited when Ladurée decided to open in Melbourne and in Chadstone, a location that's close to my house. I have been introduced to Ladurée long time a go by my parents at our frequent visit to Europe to visit some of my family. It's always a pleasant to see all the varieties of colourful macarons, cakes and pastries. The cafe it self was petit, the menu and offering not quite near as extensive as in Europe but they do have their wonderful macarons.

I opted for Marie-Antoinette Tea - Chinese black tea, rose petals, citrus fruits and honey ($8.5) and Cake a la Rose - sponge cake with crystalized rose petals; soaked in rose syrup ($9.5) with Coffee Ice cream ($7.5) on the side. The sponge was really enjoyable, aromatic and sweet and the coffee ice cream had a strong coffee flavour that somehow goes well with my sponge cake.

Ladurée is always well known for it's elegance, femininity and luxury. Once again it clearly came through, I just wish they have more cakes or their soft served just like Japan store. The prices is on the higher sides but I'm not surprise, it's pretty normal for Ladurée and the service was quick and quite accomodating.
