Camberwell Curry House is an Indian Nepalese fine dining restaurants located in Camberwell, just like it's name. My representation visited this restaurant on a weekdays night and this review is based on her experience.

The outer appearance of the restaurants, does not scream fine dining but when you enter the restaurant you will see all the table decorated with white table cloth and wine glass. The overall interior was quite nice, quite and have a calm ambience. There was no strong Indian/Nepalese smell on the dining area since the kitchen is located pretty far back. Another plus point it's BYO.

We were greeted with complimentary papadum with two interesting dips; mint yoghurt and tamarind sauce. Then two appetisers to enjoy; Momos - dumplings filled with succulent chicken mince, served with golbheda ko achar ($10.9). It's one of Nepal's most popular dish and I really love the sauce and it goes well with the dumplings. It is certainly different than Chinese dumplings. Chicken Tika - boneless pieces of chicken marinated in fresh spices, lemon juice and yoghurt barbecued in tandoor ($14.9). The chicken was super tender, succulent and soft with slight charcoal taste complete with a nice aroma from the herbs and mint yoghurt. There is an options of spiciness to suits all palate.

Then we move on to multitude of mains. Starting with their signature dish; Mountain Goat Curry ($18.9), the unique combination of Middle Eastern spices and goat cheese was refreshing and new to my palate. There were no pungent smell on the goat cheese which was highly appreciated and the mutton was tender, definitely melt in your mouth. The second main dish was Mushroom Dahi Masala - fresh mushrooms, green peas, potatoes cooked with yoghurt, tomato, onion sauce ($15.9). This is a perfect dish for vegetarian, the taste was pretty light yet refreshing. The third main dish was something very popular and quite common Murg Makhani - butter chicken cooked in tomato and cream sauce ($17.9).This was one of the highlight of the night, the buttery taste was delicious. The chicken has a sweet aromatic taste and definitely melt in your mouth. Perfect with saffron rice or the garlic naan.

Desserts is always important to end a meal but sadly we only got two choices since they ran out of dessert that day. We got Pista Kulfi - pistachio ice cream made from condensed milk and fresh pistachio and Gulab Jamun - traditional Nepalese dessert of milk dumplings with warm sauce. I personally thinks it's too sweet and the portions are pretty small.

The service was pretty friendly and attentive through out the night. It was indeed a fulfilling dinner and I enjoyed it so does my partner.
