Two Little Pigs opened early 2014 and had been standing strong ever since. We are in a time where Melbourne brunch scene is populated with fresh, healthy, clean eating and super food with numerous other healthy dietary requirements. Two Little Pigs fit in perfectly as a breath of fresh air, offering something different with full bodied and meaty dishes.

I was invited by Socrates Terrence Farrugia, one of the owner to come down to Two Little Pigs. This was not my first visit to Two Little Pigs, I have  visited them back in 2014 with a group of my friends and we all ordered their signature big breakfast called Two Little Pigs. The interior was divided by two area; indoor and semi outdoor courtyard. It had a warm, rustic yet modern cool vibe with a yellow sunflower colour accents. The indoor section has some cute piggy ornaments, perfectly suitable for the cafe. The overall space is perfect for two-four people, some bigger table for six available outback but a bit hard for larger groups.

We started our lunch with Skinny Cappuccino ($3.8), Baby Cino and Cloudy Apple - fresh squeezed gala apples, lime and strawberry ($7). The coffee was smooth yet had a strong coffee flavour and the juice comes in a very generous size which I love and the little toddler that comes with me seems to love her baby cino so much that she finished it in seconds.

Sweetcorn Fritters - romesco salsa, poached free range eggs, serrano jamon, dill sour cream, seasonal greens leaves ($16.9) with avocado ($4). The corn fritters was sweet and the dough was crispy, not too oily. Jamon had a perfect saltiness mixed in with a perfectly cooked egg. We love this dish.

Loaded Waffle - BBQ pulled pork, grilled cheddar, maple bacon pieces, pork crackle, spring onion and house made maple BBQ ($19.9). This was the highlight of our meal and this is also one of their most popular dish. The waffle was moist, soft, tasty and loaded with bacon cheese on top, as if it's not enough the pulled pork was moist and delicious. Then the generous cuts of pork belly was another extra crispy skin and tasty. I could not stop eating this dish, it had the perfect smoky flavour with cheddar melted cheese and BBQ maple syrup for balanced sweetness. Yum!

Buttermilk Hotcake - house made strawberry preserve hotcake, fresh strawberries, candied maple bacon ice cream ($15.9). Originally I wanted to order the special of the day strawberry cheesecake french toast but it was sold out so I opted for the other sweet options. The portion was beyond generous and for the price it's totally worth it. The flavour was well balanced, sweet, milky with a little bit of salty from the bacon and the texture of the pancake was well done, fluffy, soft with a nice warmness on your tummy. Love it. I had to bring some of it home since we were so full and it still taste beautifully when I reheat them.

The service was friendly, even though it's a little bit hard to get any attention if you are seated at the back. I love the courtyard and I obviously love the food as well. I would definitely come back for those waffle and maybe next time I will get to try the strawberry french toast as well. This is the perfect place for a generous simple eating with reasonable price and yummy taste.
