Axil Coffee Roaster

Axil Coffee Roaster is a well known and popular speciality coffee roaster, cafe and wholesaler based in Hawthorn, Melbourne. Axil was founded by a team of husband and wife, Dave Makin and Zoe Delany who clearly has a deep passion for coffee. It stated with one store and know they have four branches all around Melbourne and also supplies their high quality coffee to numerous cafe all around Australia.

I have been to Axil numerous times on numerous locations but this time I went to their most recent cafe at Chadstone. I was so excited since it's close to where I live and about time there's a good proper brunch inside the mall. The cafe it self has a similar interior with the other Axil branches, light wooden woods screams rustic as well as modern with greeneries strategically placed on some corners.

Zucchini, Corn and Halloumi fritters - poached egg, avocado, spinach and relish ($19). The corn fritters was a bit soggy for my preferences even though the taste was nice and sweet with fresh relish and avocado.

Pork Belly - cauliflower puree, sautéed brussel sprouts, kale, agrodolce and chorizo crumble ($24). The pork belly was very well cooked, crunchy skin and tender flavourful meat but the salad was a bit too sour. I did enjoyed the cauliflower puree and chorizo crumble.

Overall, just like usual Axil delivers a good cup of decent coffee but the service was a bit disappointing. The staff was a bit rude and some even look lost and I had to ask them a couple of times for simple things like water.
