Miss Siam is an authentic Thai cuisine restaurant is a newly opened restaurant at CBD area and offers a wide range of thai classics and authentic dishes since it's inspired by street food in Thailand.

Wendyeats invited me to her event at Miss Siam but I was still in Japan so I sent my representative in to replace me. This review is based on her experience. Miss Siam location is strategically place in Collins St, near Southern cross station and reachable by walking, tram, train and cars. The restaurant it self was really small, a bit cramped, max for 10 people and mainly focus on quick take away.

Small Bites; Louk Chin Bhing - grilled pork ball on skewer, Thai BBQ Pork with red sauce, Thai Sago Dumpling - steamed sago dumpling with sweet turnips and crushed peanuts and Crispy Rice - rice croquettes with minced chicken, shredded coconut, peanut, herb salad. The sauce for the pork ball taste really good but the pork ball it self was average. The red sauce was sweet and a nice mixture with Thai BBQ Pork. But the highlight was Thai Sago Dumpling, the purple colour was attractive, the dumpling has a nice chewiness just like mochi but it's savory since they filled the dumpling with sweet turnips. Love it. The crispy rice was also delicious, interesting combination and does not feel like a salad but not too much green element in it.

Mains; Prawn Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Wok Stir Fry chicken, chilli jam & cashew nuts and Beef Pad Kee Mao. The pad thai was perfect, prawn was fresh and crispy, the noodle was moist but not greasy. The beef curry was a little bit of disappointment, the beef was a bit too tough even though the curry was pungent and has a great smell. Beware of the pad kee mao, it's spicy but nice with generous sauce.

Milk Tea and Coconut Ice Cream with palm seeds. The texture of the milk tea ice cream was really nice and unique and the coconut ice cream had a strong coconut flavour in it which I love.

The service it self was extra friendly but sometimes on normal daily operating hours the service was average or so I heard due to the busy hours I guess. It was an enjoyable event and would love to come back for their dumplings.
