Fratelli Fresh has multiple venue in Sydney and now it comes to Melbourne. Alfred place is the latest addition to Sydney-based Urban Purveyor Group Company. On the beginning, they are inspired by the shop that sells local ingredients and fresh produce so they want to make a restaurant that offers high quality seasonal local produce. Melbourne restaurant just merely open for approximately two months and ready to compete with all the Italian restaurants around.

I was invited to Fratelli Fresh event but I had a flight to Japan so sadly I have to sent my representative in, this review is based on her experience and honestly, she love it. The location is very strategical and build on a historic building. It has an amazing interior with open bar, wood fire pizza oven and wooden tables. The vibe was cozy, warm with nice music, spacious seatings and moody lighting.

Appetizers; Zuzzhini Flower - stuffed with 5 Italian cheeses, Tomato Salad - vine rippened tomatoes, mozarella di buffala, basil, Bitter Green Shaved Vegetables - red wine, anchovy vinaigrette, Salumeria Selections - salumi Australia artisanal cured meats and Foccacia Plain - olive oil, Italian herbs, salt. The zucchini was a unique dish, tomato salad always a classic refreshing salad as well as the shaved vegetables but the anchovy vinaigrette a bit too strong. Beware the salumeria is spicy but combine with foccacia was nice, soft and cheesy in a good way.

Before the army of mains comes we were served 'Limoncello" - Italian tarditional lemon liquer and it is strong but a nice palette cleanser. Then the main comes; Chilli & Lobster Paccheri - large tube pasta, tomato, EVOO, Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli - tomato passata, basil, EVOO and Black Cod al Cartoccio in paper - artichoke, lemon, olives, white wine. The absolute favourite is the first main, the tomato sauce mixed in really well with perfectly cooked lobster and of course al dente pasta. The second main was nice too perfect for vegetarian and the fish was fresh, moist and lovely. Disclaimer the portions might not represent the real portion on a normal serving hours.

Desserts; Tiramisu and Zeppole - donut made of potato, covered by cinnamon powder serve with chocolate dipping sauce. The tiramisu was serve inside a coffee cup and it taste really nice. One of the lightest tiramisu ever and I can eat this everyday. On top of that the restaurant also sells pre-packed gelato and we got to check them out but none of us try it cause we are so full. They have salted pistachio crunch, raspberry sorbet, Tahitian vanilla and tiramisu.

What stands out the most is their service, the staff was super friendly, accomodating, attentive and knowledgable so does the marketing representative of the night, Toby and Adeline and of course Chef Damien him self. It was indeed a great night with a wonderful Italian feast from start to end.
