Jai Ho started in 2011 with a longing to join Melbourne multi cultural cuisines. They wanted to bring something traditional such as tandoori techniques as well as modern Indian cuisines. Jai Ho is a warm, welcoming family business with old heritage recipes pass from generation to generation. Sunil and Sunita Abbott is the founder of Jai Ho, Sunita involves behind the unique home style cooking she learnt in her home town Kashmir.

My mom is a big fan of Indian food so when I heard from Kunal, Jai Ho Social Media Manager, I was so excited to tell her. It's a great coincidence that she is here with me in Melbourne and she's my Indian food expert. The restaurant it self was elegant, well decorated with traditional ethnic Indian vibe. They include Indian art, handmade furniture and Baithak (traditional Indian low seating). I get to meet Saurabh Abbott, the manager as well as the one of the owner at Jai Ho. He did spend sometime with us explaining what's important to Jai Ho and their future vision.

We started the dinner with some Mocktails beautifully presented then a set CanapΓ©s; Trio of Dips with Papadum and Indian Beer Nuts shows up.

Entrees; Lamb Seekh Kebab, Tandoori Chicken ( Bone on ), Vegetable Samosas and Onion Bhaji. We love the tandoorri chicken the most, we can't stop eating it. The vegetable samosas was a little bit too spicy and dense for my taste but the onion bhaji with the mint sauce was yummy as well as the tamarind sauce.

Mains; Butter Chicken, Punjabi Goat curry (Bone On) ( Known as famous mughlai speciality Bhuna Gosht), Dal Balti and Mixed vegetables with Garlic Naan / Naan, Mushroom Pulao. Out of all course, we love this the most. Everything was full of flavour, rich but not overwhelming and had a nice spiciness at the end.

Desserts; Rose and Pistachio Kulfi - homemade traditional Indian ice cream and Traditional Indian Masala tea. The texture of the ice cream was unique, a bit sticky and dense but we love it especially the rose flavour. The masala tea was a bit too thin for me, I like it a little bit more richer.

The service was friendly, attentive and warm. Overall, it's one of the finest Indian food I have ever tasted. Jai ho has a spacious space and it's perfect for large group of people or even coorporate functions and party.
