Ayomo x Hawk and Hunter (Invited)

Hawk and Hunter has been operating for over 3 years and located right beside Ripponlea Station, for people with cars, do not worry there are plenty of parkings all around the cafe as well. I was invited to their recent Zomato meet up and introduce to their general manager Lizzie and one of the owner Amanda. Amanda was really friendly through out the dinner, she moved around the table and have a chat with all of us.

The architectural fit out was amazingly charming with full length windows, blond natural woods, exposed bricks, some colours on the wall and warm lighting to complete the place. What appeal most to me is the mix match collage of paper tree on one side of the wall, just seems warm, friendly and chic.

We were greeted with super refreshing, healthy and caffeine free;Hunter Ice Tea - apple, dragon fruit, sea buckthorn berries, chokeberries, goji berries, kiwi fruit, pineapple, papaya, cranberries and blueberries. Love the colour, love the flavour.

Freekah Bowl - onion seeds, avocado, roasted pumpkin, beetroot, pomegranate, spinach. As some of you may have known, I love my meat but this bowl surprise me. The flavour was light, tasty and even left me craving for more. It's one of my favourite dish of the night.

Summer Vegetable - asparagus, heirloom carrots, baby beet, cauliflower, shitake mushrooms, frisee, pink grapefruit, crispy buckwheat, angel hair chilli and a sesame dressing. Another fresh and fulfilling vegetarian dish but I still prefer the freekah bowl.

Pumpkin Jam Grilled Turkish bread - braised baby fennel, maple bacon stuffed Portobello mushroom, goats curd, roasted cherry tomato, zuchinni and crispy sage leaves.

Tiger Prawn brioche roll - coleslaw, tobiko with shoe string fries and lemon. I think tobiko is in trend now since I have been seeing it being used on multiple dish this past month but hey, I'm not complaining I love them. The brioche roll was sweet and fluffy and the prawn was succulent but I like a little bit more punching flavours on the tiger prawn.

48hr Lamb - hot bathed lamb shoulder, poached eggs, beetroot hollandaise, ricotta, kale, multigrain toast. The lamb dish comes in a vibrant pink colour, makes it stands out among the other dish. The lamb it self was super tender with mild flavour giving the hollandaise a moment to shine.

Brioche French Toast - flamed grilled banana, passionfruit, maple gel, butterscotch, thick cut, streaky bacon & macerated strawberries. Love the flame grilled banana, it was sweet and soft mixing with a fluffy brioche and creamy butterscotch sauce.

During the dinner we were also served Ayomo juice and we are also given some home. There were 3 flavour; Garden Green, Summer Lovin and Back to Roots. My personal favourite was the Summer Lovin, just had the tropical feeling to it. Sometime during the event, they introduce their Korean Chef who apparently age 40 years old despite his 25 years old appearances. I so want to know his skin care routines! Overall, it was a great event, fast phase just how I like them with warm attitude and generosity. I would like to come by next time and try their Small Batch coffee and maybe some more of their Spring and Summer brunch dish or maybe held a function in the venue just because it was so spacey and charming.
